I consider myself to be relatively well educated in the latest generation of social networking site games like FarmVille, Country Life, Mafia Wars, and such. That's why when I started to see these FarmVille guides popping up all over the place I was kind of surprised. I mean, I can see why people might need some tips to get going in games like Mafia Wars, but FarmVille?
At this point though I hadn't actually played the game, but I didn't really think it could be all that complicated. I figured I should give it a shot though, just so that I could say I knew what I was talking about. And I was in for a rather big surprise. In no time, I was out of money and had no crops to plant. I have to admit, there way more to this game than I had anticipated.
I eventually managed to dig myself out of my original hole and out of the red, but I still wasn't making all that much progress. I started to think that maybe I needed to see what these guides were all about. I wasn't really expecting much, but since I hadn't done so well on my own either, I figured it was worth a shot.
So I picked up a guide called FarmVille secrets, and was pleasantly surprised by the tips I found in it. You wouldn't think there were so many ways you could screw up a virtual farm, but believe me, you can. I was still stumbling along at level 6 when I got the guide after 2 weeks of playing regularly. Now I'm the proud owner of a plantation and a level 26 Sultan of Soil. And I still look back at my guide from time to time. If you're having trouble getting into the swing of things in FarmVille, this guide is not a bad investment.

Dear Mr. President,
Please find below my suggestion for fixing America's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed. 2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed. 3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.
It can't get any easier than that!!
P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes...
Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto! |

Subject: Cash for Clunkers This will help you feel better....
A vehicle at 15 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 800 gallons a year of gasoline. A vehicle at 25 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 480 gallons a year.
So, the average "clunker" transaction reduced US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year. According to the governments web site, http://www.cars.gov, they claim 700,000 vehicles were turned in which equates to 224 million gallons of gas per year in "savings".
According to the Dept of Energy, one barrel of oil makes 19.5 gallons of gas. That means 11,487,179 barrels of oil are needed to make 224 million gallons of gas. The USA uses 20,680,000 barrels daily according to NationMaster.com. That is just over 1/2 of ONE DAY's US consumption. At $75/bbl, 11,487,179 million barrels of oil costs about $861+ million dollars.
So, you and I (via our fearless leader and his cohort's) spent $2,877,000,000 (thats BILLION) to save $861+ million. And THAT was a good deal how??? But I'm SURE they will do a great job with health care!!! Of course they will.

Here we go again. Why is it that these directors think that the term "documentary" means "shakey-cam".
I'm just sick. Literally. Sick. Motion sick. I had realy high expectaions of district 9. The alienovie released this past weekend. Although I liked the movie and I stuck it out, I still.got a little motion sick.
The VFX was very good. There were only a couple of small spatial issues with the aliens. But not big enough to expose them.
Script-wise. Aliens speak in their native tongue but understand English. Humans speak in English but understand alien. Convienient. Now the aliens were there for 20 years.auberge that is why. I know a Honduran that has been in the US for 10 years and still doesn't speak English.
I don't know what to do about the shakey-cam the shakey-cam thing. I think maybe since it opened fairly strong, but 5 days later it's on medium sized screen at the AMC here in Harvey, will speak to some of these directors.
No 3D movies for me this summer. Well except for maybe James Cameron's Avatar.
